Our non-whisky Whisky Squad session on Tequila (and Mezcal) in May went down an absolute storm, and so when we were offered an opportunity to run a session on Cognac, we thought the only possible answer was “absolutely!”.

Ed Bates is the absolute go-to person when it comes to cognac, Armagnac, and other “boiled wine” drinks – and he enjoyed his last session with us so much that he’s volunteered to share with us some of his knowledge on the topic, as well as a few tasty samples so that we might learn about this rarefied French drink, and how & why it differs from the whisky we know & love.

A member of the Compagnie des Mousquetaires d’Armagnac, and for many years the brandy, Cognac & Armagnac specialist at Berry Brothers & Rudd, it’s been said by many people that if there’s anything Ed doesn’t know about this branch of the spirits family, it’s probably not worth knowing.

This event is fully booked.
